I made a character with Midjourney or a LoRA. How do I register it, and what is the ID for?
A character is not a file. It is a hundred images that are recognisably the same someone, a LoRA on Civitai, a prompt you have refined for months. That is exactly why it is hard to prove anything about one: there is no single thing to fingerprint. A registry solves this by writing the character down first.
What gets registered
You upload one to four pictures — renders, upscales, a commissioned sheet. From them a specification is drafted: silhouette, structure, surface, palette, and the three to five signature features that make this character this character. You edit it until it is right and finalize it. The finalized spec is fingerprinted (SHA-256), and that fingerprint plus your account is what receives a registry ID — a number of the form AVL-XXXXXX — and is anchored to a public blockchain that night. Editing the spec later creates a new version with its own date; the ID stays.
The spec never appears in full on the public page; what is public is the ID, the name, one line, the reference pictures you chose, the dates and the anchoring status. The full spec is yours, and it is what a buyer receives if you ever sell.
What the number proves
That a specific description of this character, under your account, existed unchanged since a specific date, and that anyone can check it against the chain. It is a dated, verifiable claim of this is my character and here is when I said so. It is not a trademark, not a copyright registration, and it does not stop anyone generating something that looks like your character — it means that if they do, the order of events is on record. What a character ID proves spells out the three layers.
Where the ID goes
- The public page, app.openstela.io/c/AVL-XXXXXX — link it from your Civitai model page, X bio, Discord server.
- A small SVG badge, Registered · anchored, that you can embed anywhere markdown is allowed. It reads the record live, so it turns grey if the character is ever unlisted.
- On every work you bind to the character: the song, the video, the post now carry the ID on their own pages.
The market listing
A registered character is listed in the market by default as showcase: visible, with a contact button, no price. That is deliberate — most people who register are not selling, and a showcase listing is how buyers and collaborators find you. If you do want to sell or licence, switch the mode, set a price, and the deal room takes over: a contract template, two signatures, the pack moves. Registration is free; the only fee is 5% (minimum US$15) paid by the seller when a character actually sells. How a sale works is the next post.

編號放哪裡

Do I need a LoRA to register a character?登記角色一定要有 LoRA 嗎？
No. One to four pictures are enough; the specification is written from them. A LoRA is one way of reproducing a character, not the character itself.

Is my prompt or specification shown publicly?我的提示詞或規格會公開嗎？
No. The public page shows the ID, name, one line, the reference pictures you chose and the record's dates. The full specification stays in your account and is delivered to a buyer only on sale.

Can I register a character I bought or was commissioned to draw?我買來的角色，或是我受託畫的角色，可以登記嗎？
Register what you have the right to register. The record carries a rights declaration in your name; if the character is someone else's, the declaration is false and the record is worthless. For commissions, agree first who registers.
