I made a video with Sora, Veo or Runway. How do I put a date on it?
The moment to do this is before the upload to YouTube or TikTok, not after. Once a clip is out it gets re-encoded, cropped, re-posted; every one of those copies is a different file. The version you can prove is the one you fingerprinted first.
File or link: two records, two strengths
The file. Upload the mp4 or webm you rendered (up to 100 MB per file; 300 MB of upload space per account). The record's fingerprint is computed over the bytes of the video itself. This is the strong record: months later, anyone with that file can recompute the fingerprint and match it to the chain. Keep the original.
The link. If the clip is already on YouTube, you can register the URL instead. We take a snapshot of what the page says about itself at that moment — title, channel, thumbnail — and fingerprint that. It costs no storage and it documents where and under what name the clip was published, but it does not fingerprint the video. For anything you care about, do both: the file for the content, the link for the publication.
What goes in the record
The name you publish under, the date you finished it, a rights declaration, and — since the tool generated the footage — what you contributed. Write it the way you would explain it to a stranger: “wrote the script and shot list; ~60 generations across Veo and Runway, selected 14 shots; edited, colour-graded and scored in Resolve; voice-over is my own.” Nobody can add to this later, including you, because the record's fingerprint would change. Say what is true and say it precisely.
What a date settles, and what it does not
It settles order. If a clip surfaces under someone else's name and their earliest evidence is later than your record, the timeline is not a matter of opinion. It does not settle ownership of the model's output — that is the tool's terms and your jurisdiction — and it does not stop the same prompt producing something similar for someone else. A registry is evidence, not a title deed; we say so on every record.
If the video is a character's
A VTuber's clip, an AI idol's music video: bind the work to the character's registry ID and it appears on the character's page with its own dated binding record. If the channel is declared and verified with a one-time code, the link record also carries a channel check — the clip was published on a channel the character's holder controls. 發表用的名字、做完的日期、權利聲明，以及——既然畫面是工具生成的——你貢獻了什麼。用跟陌生人解釋的方式寫：「劇本和分鏡自己寫；Veo 和 Runway 各生成約 60 次，選了 14 個鏡頭；在 Resolve 剪接、調色、配樂；旁白是我自己的聲音。」寫進去之後沒有人能再補，包括你，因為紀錄的指紋會變。寫真的，寫準。
日期定得了什麼，定不了什麼
定得了先後。若同一支片以別人的名字出現，而對方最早的證據晚於你的紀錄，時間線就不是各說各話。它定不了模型產出的歸屬——那是工具條款和你的法域的事——也擋不住同一句提示詞替別人生出相似的畫面。登錄簿是證據，不是所有權狀；每一張紀錄上都這麼寫。
如果影片是某個角色的
VTuber 的片、AI 偶像的 MV：把作品綁到角色的登記編號，它就出現在角色頁上，附一張自己的綁定紀錄。如果頻道有宣告並用一次性碼驗證過，連結紀錄還會多一項管道核對——片子發表在角色持有人控制的頻道上。細節在虛擬歌手那篇。

Register a 1080p export under 100 MB as the work and keep the master with it. The record proves that export existed on the date; it is the version you publish anyway. Register the YouTube link as well once it is up.

No. A link record fingerprints a snapshot of what the page said at that moment — title, channel, thumbnail. It documents publication, not content. Upload the file for the content.

You can, but say so in the contribution field. A record that claims more than you did is worth less than one that is modest and exact.
